Backpacking up Whitewater Canyon beyond red dome palm Springs

Hiked the PCT up to red dome from the Whitewater Preserve near Palm Springs only 2 miles then hiked up the river with a paddle and found a camp site for and overnight. Was fun 6 river crossing not hard.

This was so much fun! I'm so glad that we had postponed for a week. Crazy what a little rain will do. Loved the river crossings. The campsite was a great find!

Stunning scenery but a rocky old trail at times walking in but looks like you made a great camp. Food looked awesome, I love a burger and a couple of them would do me fine. Good on you for picking up trash on the way home but should have to do it, some people can be so inconsiderate. Good to see Susan still smiling after 6 river crossings lol, cheers Alan

Excellent camp and explore. I found the Mountain House lasagna really gums of my spork bad and needed water and sand to scrub it off.. Terrible stuff...LOL I agree on the dog doo bags... No sense to put it in the bag if you are just going to toss it back on the trail... There is no dog do patrol on the trail to carry out your dog doo bags... This is one of the many things that turn hikers against pets on the trail.
