Refined Hill Style Experience!
The Hill Style American Semi Longbow by Great Plains.
Just beautiful and a great shooter. The refinements do make sense, even if the purists will stay with the old style Hill bow.
For everyone who wants Hill Style but with a smoother shooting experience and more speed, this is the one :)
Thanks to Great Plains for sending this awesome bow to me!

I’ve shot American style recurves for 35+ years. My first longbow was a Great Plains Traditional(2 years ago). It runs with the better recurves easily(ilf style). The ASL they make will probably be my next Great Plains.

I'm happy with my af longbow I purchased after your review. This one seems nice but I can't justify the expense. 👍🎯

I have a Youth Longbow in hickory for left eye dominate thing from This same company, Yet to use but the bow is just a tick over 45 pounds at my draw of 24.5--25 inches. It is not the True Howard Hill/Flat limb style but a reflex deflex that the reflex limb looks like a straight bow when strung type ASL at 52 inches. I feel almost like I have a modern take on the Plains Native bows when I have the bow drawn. I got it in 2022 right on my birthday on December 20th, was supposed to be a week earlier but a snow storm stopped the bow from coming. I do like they were one of the few who made a short draw bow for my needs that is not the price of a bigger bow, or possibly more for such a request, with some companies saying they can offer most adult models at a 26 inch draw. I do not want to have to do some asking on how off the bow weight is from each inch lower then X draw the bow is made for, I just want to use the bow and have it at my draw or very close to my hunting draw.

Looks like a really nice bow, but it seems kind of slow for the money, I like the little short bows and thumb draw, and the fact that they shoot really fast, thank you for another great review

The bow looks soo beautiful. Armin sir I have a question, what is the ideal height ot a Long bow? Some say 65" and some have said 71". Is there a standard height or depends on person to person.

I have a few centre shot bows, and they seem to be easier to shoot accurately than my 'non' centre shot bows... but non- centre shot bows are much more satisfying (challenging) to shoot accurately.
That being said i wouldn't mind one of these in my bow rack... (i do like smoothness of a longbow).
My favourite (at the moment) bow is a 'Tang' style #40, @ 28 laminate... 58" long, 32" max draw. Closely followed by a #40@"28, 60" long, 30" draw centre shot bow... so similar in specs... but totally different to shoot.

Hello, ...I have a 32-pound, 67-inch hybrid longbow...what wooden arrow do you recommend?, ...diameter and weight?....thank you!

looking on your face, we know which works easier !
the Howard Hill model and copies are an enigma but excepting the lighter arrows few differences between GP and Fairbows
anyway, Great plains have an excellent reputation with lighter, comfortable and precise modern models (reflex deflex, with carbon, ...) for competition, like Toelke bows !

Great Plains makes a few "Hill Style" bows. Each with slight variation.

So basically for 300 dollars more you get a premium, refined version of Bear Montana.

Herrlich wenn Österreicher Englisch sprechen, ich dachte erst Gerhard Berger rauszuhören, klingt wahnsinnig ähnlich, zumindest für mich als Norddeutscher🙈
Danke für das Video, genial👍

I shot a Hill Longbow for over 30 years and wasn't impressed. It "seemed" to be much slower and loads of hand shock so I've gone to an eastern recurve, much faster.

How good was Hill really?

He was way before my time, but I've looked at some footage of him on youtube, and it was clearly faked.

Was he actually good or just hyped up by the movies?
