Great to have another tool time video! I always enjoy seeing what other modellers use and what their workstations look like. Thanks a mill!

Thanks for the tour of your work bench. i recently found your You tube page and have found it extremely informative. i have been out of the hobby for a while but still have a small stash of kits and want to get started again once i clear the shed for some space. Keep up the good work

Nice collection. Love the "gloop" I've been modeling since I was just a little wipper snapper, about 6 I guess. For about the last 10 years I thought there had to be something better than putty for filler. Something I have started with recently, instead of buying CA kicker, cause I'm cheap, is mixing half & half distilled H2O & 90% isopropyl alcohol. Works great and already had the ingredients because I mix my own thinners and cleaners for acrylics. Thanks for all the videos and tours. You've inspired my work space setup. Keep up the good work.

Watched half of this while holding the exhausts on a Matchbox Surtees waiting for the glue to dry. It was great to speak with you briefly at Hudds and love to see some footage from the show.

I love the Mr Hobby paint opening tool :D. Anybody using Mr Hobby paints knows how they love to stick closed, & that tool makes it a LOT easier to open paints.

Nice video Phil. Just a thought: how about a video/tutorial on the best(ish) pressures to use when airbrushing? What psi is good for lacquer primers and paints, and the same for acrylic based products. I know it's not an exact science and you might say 'just experiment', but I don't like wasting products and I'm lazy.😬😳🙄😉 A generalised guide could be helpful. I'm a returnee to the hobby and airbrushing does spook me a tad (I'm sure I'm not the only one), and I've just spent a fortune on new gear. Anyway, just a thought. Always a pleasure to watch your videos etc. Could be tempted to join the forum. Best wishes, Simon

I've used Tamiya extra thin as a ca debonder with success. Acetone is a good solvent for ca.

I wonder if you use any lacquer based paints at all, like Mr Hobby or Gaianotes.

Hi Phil. Have you considered challenging yourself to a very basic build? Get one of those Airfix kits that includes paint/glue and a brush, and have a go at building one of those without the luxury of a multitude of tools and airbrushes. Just you, a kit, some paint, glue and a paint brush. Would be interesting to see the kind of results a pro can get from one of those kits, just using the supplied items and stuff that everyone would have available to them in the house. :)

Phil you said the Citadel sprue cutters are the best, have you compared them with any of the standard sprue cutters. A lot of beginners aren't willing to spend $60 AUD for sprue cutters

A lot of these paint products are not really a viable proposition for me as i still work from the kitchen table, so i'm very limited for space. Therefore, brush painting is the only way for me, airbrushing is sadly a no-no for me. Though i am going over to Vallejo type paints along with Tamiya and Xtracrylic's, and moving away from enamels, and their smell..
And finally, where can i get one of those paint bottle opener's from ?
Thanks for another informative vid anyway

Tamiya comes in 23ml and 10ml. The 23ml offers a limited range of bottled paints where the 10ml covers the full range of bottled paints. No idea why Tamiya also offers colors that are only available in spray cans. Ugh. I love Tamiya paints I just wished they offered more colors in bottles.
