Hey Michael! 1:41 <<< I don't understand. When you Ctrl+Shift+LeftMouseButtonTap on the middle part of the cylinder (which makes only the cylinder's middle part visible on the canvas), then you invert and after the inversion the cylinders' bottom parts became hidden too. Why? I mean the cylinder's middle part was visible, so after an inversion of that... the cylinders' top and bottom parts should be visible too, but the bottom parts in the video is gone after inversion. Why the bottom parts' visibility are missing after inversion? I don't get it. I mean 1 cylinder got 3 polygroup parts = 1 top 1 bottom 1 middle. So when you got the middle part visible only and you make an inversion on that, then the result should be top and bottom too. Another thing I don't understand is: Why only half of the cylinders' middle part is visible when you did the rotation on the canvas? (is that just caused by the lights or what?) Thank you (:

When I apply my IMM brush which consist of three poly groups in order to be a seamless curve it only appears with one polygroup assigned to all when I apply the stroke...so I can't get 'Tri Parts' function under 'Brush - Modifer' to work...also it doesn't save the changes I make to the brush' geometry for some reason...I always save those manually.

ctrl-shift click is masking all other polygroups instead of hiding them, why is that happening?

Hello...

I created a model (a tree stump) that has 6 levels of subdivisions. I wanted to control the UVs to make a more logical layout (for a normal map export) than what ZBrush automatically creates.

I cannot.

Apparently, to create polygroups, you cannot have multiple levels of subdivisions. To create polygroups that would help me to control my UVs in ZBrush, I would need to get rid of all of the detailed work.

Is there no way around this? Is there not a way to get normal maps from within Maya?

Great but everyone is missing the KEY thing that I'm trying to do here, any time I mask it's a blurred seleciton. The auto grouping or masking isn't working for my model, which is a simple cuboid shape, I just want to select the top face and add a seam around that whole edge, and using polygroups seems obvious. Why is it impossible to do in ZBRush? It would be quicker for me to export this model into Blender, add seams and do a UV map, then reimport into Zbrush to model on. Why doesn't Zbrush just allow me to select an edge loop and add a seam? Or let me select a group of faces in a binary fashion to convert into polygroup, why are all the selections and mask tools blurry?
