Im new to scrum, and ive recently joined a team (well, 2 devs right now and a PO) that are self organizing and in Sprint 0. Biggest challenge right now is the hiring process. Its enlightening to come to an organization where the team knows what is expected of them and work collaboratively to get the task done. One of the lead devs is actually coaching me on what scrum is because he has been part of a scrum team for years.😊

As a developer who's been part of multiple scrum projects, I have not yet seen a single sprint planning meeting where the sprint goal was available at the beginning of the meeting. What usually happens is that we select the stories of the highest priority. Then there is some negotiation with the PO - who had hoped for more stories. When all is set, the PO defines a goal based on the chosen stories. Since that often doesn't really work due to the diversity of the stories, we end up having multiple "sprint goals".

Stepping up to become a Scrum Master myself, I am astonished by this simple fact presented in your video. However, I believe one fundamental task missing in the video is managing the expectations of the PO and the developers. These rarely align.

It was good learning video for me, thanks, opened my learning direction to get more understanding and proper training for Scrum master role. Acting several past years as project manager in software projects and acting nowadays as Scrum master in one development project it has been challenging to help the team. But seams that my way to help is partially wrong, to help team to come independent is difficult if Scrum master prepares sprint planning meetings (as a ready dinner) and Team comes to meeting without any preparations.
