Any inside scoop on Jermaine Burton being a key role?

Hope to see the TEs all getting some snaps. Any predictions on which rookie tight end will be better?

Ja’Marr isn’t gonna be in game shape and the timing will take a while to recover. If they can’t beat the Patriots without him they’ve got bigger issues.

My primary concern about the Bengals is: Can the Bengals consistently stop the run? The North revolves around the run game, even in today’s NFL. Because Baltimore and Pittsburgh are both built to run the ball, control time of possession, and play great defense, same as always since time immemorial.

I feel good about our starters at edge and on the d line, although they are older units. If they can’t stop the run and get off the field, we’re exposed with guys like Zack Carter and Kris Jenkins, Jr and Joseph Ossai and especially Cedric Johnson being forced to provide snaps so the starters can get spelled. I like Jenkins and Ossai, but one is a rookie playing in the AFC North and the other has been unavailable his first few years due to injury. Carter and Johnson are liabilities against starting level NFL offensive lines and RBs, at least for now in Cedric’s case.

So can the starters, Trey, Sam, Rankins, and BJ stop the run effectively and force three and outs and get off the field? I don’t know. Sheldon Rankins is more effective rushing the passer than stopping the run, always has been. I think the Bengals are hoping that between Rankins, Jenkins, and eventually McKinnley Jackson, they have an answer for the departure of DJ Reader. I’m not sure I agree, we’ll have to see. We have to win the North and to do that we have to stop the run.

Can cincy please get mean this year. Like show no respect or mercy to other teams in the division like they have been bullying us in recent years? Its very frustrating to watch us get pushed and shoved around by the other 3. Not that we arent the better team i am just saying from a physical and aggressive standpoint

Let me put this Chase contract and it's importance in the right perspective. Without Joe Montana or Steve Young, you would not hear that much about Jerry Rice. Many decent receivers that played with either Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, went elsewhere in free agency and what happened to them? Tyreek Hill is the only one who left KC and went to Miami and had success. Of course, not like he had with the Chiefs and their Super Bowls. Look at Davante Adams, when he left Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay his production with the Raiders went where? When the Steelers had a choice to pay Big Ben, LaVeon Bell, or Antonio Brown, who did they keep? Is anyone getting the picture? I like Chase, that is until he decided to no longer fulfill his contract with TWO years left on it. Without Burrows a year ago, within the division especially, Chase neither played an entire season or was any sort of REAL factor. Seems to me he missed time late in the season and Higgins picked up the slack and helped Browning out. Need to start thinking wins and not just individual players who are STILL under contract. Here's an idea, the players need to start thinking of their team also. The league needs to start encouraging this. Stop backing players who are under contract, stop sticking your face into things like franchises in Denmark or Germany or wherever Commissioner. So sick of integrity that is based on nothing but MONEY with a bunch of under educated spoiled brats who without sports would be a Janitor at some Middle School in the projects. You podcasters on here, the Drew Sample fans, if I have just said anything that isn't true prove it.

If they don't give Burton at least 10-15 offensive snaps a game it's a really big waste of talent

I would not play Chase this week no matter what happens. He’s not in football shape and we don’t need him getting hurt.

I love how the majority of content creators and beat writers are barely talking about the Chase dilemma. Its only the most important story in franchise history and largest display of organization incompetence in franchise history ... but yeah let's keep talking about Mike Geisicki. LOLOLOL. Blackburn's love the white knighting for the org.

No offense to Trenton but having him over Burton seem like a terrible idea. What does Irwin do better than Burton?

Im over this Chase bullshit...why are owners even entertaining contract negotiations with someone who has 2 years left on the contract they signed ??!!! If were the owner of the Bengals if would sit down with Chase and his agent and show them the contract Chase signed and say at this point the name on the front of the jersey is more important than the name on the back of the jersey...now suit up and catch balls we'll talk about a acontract in 2026 😘 and i would get up and walk out of the room...

Sign Chase and move on. Absurd. You know he is getting a huge contract. End it now.
