Fun fact. Kittens have an *actual* superpower. The squeaky meow made by kittens actually stimulates the part of the brain in mammals that deals with parental instincts. What this means is any mammal that encounters a meowing kitten, it will be more likely to leave the kitten alone. This doesn't always work but it makes the predator slightly less likely to kill the kitten. Basically humans are not the only ones to find kittens, or at least the sound they make, cute.

When I was age 6, found an orphan newborn kitten with eyes still closed..the mother had been hit by a car (city life). My great uncle had a store and had lost his store cat. The drama ensued...my mother was so anti cat ...but thanks to my extended family..I got to keep "Tiny" and raise her for Unkies' store. Best experience ever ! Bottle fed from my baby doll bottles, ripped up news papers for litter, having to train this teeny weeny being...and I had to do everything !! Tiny got to bond with everyone and it was a wonderful experience. She bonded with Unkie as I brought her down to his room every evening. Tiny lived 18 years. When he closed his business she came come to live in my grandparents home where Unkie had a room. Never deny a child the opportunity to raise and nurture any helpless creature.
