Went there as a visitor from the UK a few years ago. It was amazing. We got to the highest point, but stupidly I'd forgotten to take water bottle with me and had to beg a mouthful from passers by. A tough lesson to engage your brain before you set out on any hike.

I live in Colorado. And I remember when my uncle would bring me up to the dunes in Walden Colorado along with his two ATVs, , a Raptor FYZ450 and a Suzuki ( I don't remember the model) when I was like 8- 10 years old. I haven't been there scene I was 10 and now I'm 14 and I'm hoping my dad will get me a Raptor 700r this summer because he said he would get me one as long as I got good grades, and I am getting good grades.

I remember going here long time ago, such a surreal experience. In all places Colorado. Very cool. Brings back memories. Went there with the Boy Scouts for an over night camping trip, and played some football on the top of the dunes. :))

Was just there a couple weeks ago. Fucked my neck up trying to sandboard when the board suddenly stopped and I did a faceplant that bent my neck way back. Now I still have headaches. Beautiful place though!

Been to the top dunes many of times. Yes, you want to climb in old shoes (sand gets really hot) and yes they will get sand in beautiful.

Climbed up the High Dune today on a whim. Haven't had a workout like that in some time.
The view from the tops of the dunes and the whole place in general is amazing!

One summer I made an attempt to run to the top of one of the dunes. Big mistake! The higher you go the hotter the sand. The soles of my shoes starting melting. Other than that the sand dunes are breathtaking.
