You probably figured it out the hard way by now but driving a motor this size from a microcontroller will eventually fry your outputs. Also to produce torque a stepper needs current, the more current the more torque and as a byproduct the more noise as the force makes the shaft "snap" into each position. You can alleviate this to some degree with micro-stepping which also makes it so you can have more positions for you shaft at the cost of some torque, ultimately it doesn't really lessen the noise, it just makes it less jarring. It's a balance between current, torque, accuracy and noise. (And sometimes temperature)
A good trick if accuracy or rigidity isn't a big issue is to mount them on rubber standoffs, most of the vibrations are usually transmitted to whatever is holding the motor.

you need a driver and 12V power suply. it does make noise when the power is insufficient

I need to find a quiet servo moter to drive a camera crane/jib head, for tilt and pan... I really struggle to find something, it seems all Jib/crane manufacturers don't care about noise. But our studio is small and we dont have so much space to position our crane far enough from the presenters and mics.

when i run the NEMA17 it is too noisy no matter the amps i use. When i use micro-step then the noise disappear!
