Today I'm showing you some of my favorite extraordinary reverbs - verbs that inspire creative new ways to send your signal into the atmosphere. These verbs are not for the faint of heart, but for those brave souls who will venture into uncharted reverberation territory to find new sonic landscapes. In the comments let me know what your favorite reverb pedal and sound I played was, and also any reverbs you have that fit this category and how you use them!

Reverb became so popular that it actually got it’s own website

A dude that makes/sells pedals going ham over other people’s pedals and how cool they are with massive amounts of positivity...yup, that classy right there. Classy.

One of the bonus features of reverbs with "evolving" sounds is that they discourage wanking. Yes, yes, I'm fully aware you can play as fast as you do. But the only way for you to actually HEAR the auditory miracles these things pull off is to *stop* playing for a bit, so you can hear them. I think that's a real gift to music.

What I love most about your videos is the blatant enthusiasm for pedals. You build your own great products and still share the love for others AND have a seemingly unending well of knowledge on the history of so many. Thank you.

Every person that plays guitar at a church already has two of these reverbs.

The dude just loves pedals.

I like the way he shows so much respect and appreciation for his peers in the business. Reminds me a lot of the ethos of the craft brew industry where there is general agreement that more people making good beer helps grow the whole market. Plus it's just cool to be part of a community of people who love the same stuff.

I guess you could say, Josh is like the Jim Koch (of Sam Adams) of boutique pedals --- the PR guy for the whole industry/community.

The Old Blood Noise Dark Star is my personal favorite reverb pedal. I've written full-blown songs around it, making it absolutely necessary to remain perpetually on my board. That, to me, is what makes a pedal truly special.

Slow Dancing in a Burning Room wouldn't be the same without that massive reverb on that thump in the intro riff

Oh-oh, dangerous topic for me. Non-ordinary delays and reverbs are my kryptonite. Josh, your channel (and your good vibes, humor and smarts, and love for pedals) are top of the line, elegant and educational, love it all! See, JHS pedals are expensive to import to Brazil (where I live), but I gotta have them, for the love that is put into them. Thanks endlessly.

I couldn’t vouch more for the Old Blood Procession. Years later and it’s still my most inspiring wild card pedal. Every sound is so beautiful and being able to hold trails is magic.

I love the Afterneath, but also love the Meris Mercury7 reverb. I think the classic Jeff Buckley album Grace would not be the same without all the reverb, especially the beautiful and haunting classic Hallelujah. What a song.

I have to say how impressed I am that Josh puts out all these great, informative videos on pedals. He is more than just a fantastic builder, he is also a huge fan and historian on all things that make guitar sounds!

Another excellent Vlog! "Observator" or "Pe'ahi" by the Raveonettes - great reverb records. Thanks for plugging into the Ventris, Josh!

The Verve's A Storm in Heaven is so much soaked in reverb that you could almost wring it out of the record and drink it up...

I've never been much into pedals and for the past 10 years I've been happy with my first three companions. Subscribed to your channel a while ago and my shopping list keeps growing. I think I've discovered a new purpose in life. Only thing I need now is a good guide how to convince my wife that I really need new pedals.

I just ordered the OBNE procession and I couldn't be more stoked. Probably wouldn't have been on my radar if not for this video so thank you!
