It's a fun little film. I hadn't seen an interpretation of the werewolf curse that wasn't horror. that made it different for me. The recent series of the same name just made it another supernatural story. Missing the point. I knew girls like Pamela back in the 80's. Unfortunately. Of course Scott making all the wrong decisions and letting the wolf fame go to his head is a necessary trope that is part of the story. Otherwise it would just be about a hairy teenager. Maybe not the most original story but the characters and actors were all good and it was a fun tale. I think the werewolf make up worked in its simplicity for the story. it would have been too distracting and taken away from the story in this one. Great movie!

Although its not up there with films like Back To The Future or Frighteners, its still a fun movie.

Your right that this movie did seem to blend several elements from other popular film themes in the 80's! (Youth Romantic Comedies, Basketball & Wolfmen!) If he used his 'wolf abilities' to fight the Soviets... it would have made the quintessential 80's cult flic!)

I never felt any compulsion to see this particular movie, despite loving Michael J Fox (the Back to the Future trilogy is one of my favorites), and despite that the werewolf is an actual "wolf man" type of monster, which became very rare after American Werewolf. I guess the fact that it was a teen movie and I was in my 20s, plus the sports angle, probably turned me off. But it does seem like a nice, low-key non-horror movie. He's kind of like a Jack Russell who never had to fight other monsters. :D

I actually first saw this on Friday Movie Day in my freshman year in high school. Always loved the film. Michael should realize he made a classic. Get over himself a moment. Also, marry me.
