Meet Officer Song

As you know, San Diego is a very diverse city with many historical and cultural contributions from numerous backgrounds. This is one of the reasons why San Diego is called "America's Finest City." The San Diego Police Department celebrates Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month this month.

Throughout the month, we will be featuring numerous Asian American & Pacific Islander police officers in the department and talk about why they chose to be in law enforcement and what they hope to contribute to the San Diego community.

We want to introduce you to Officer Song. He joined our department last year and is patrolling the College West area. Officer Song spent his childhood in Seoul, South Korea, on a U.S. Military Base. At 16, he came to the United States for college. He is fluent in both English and Korean. His passion for helping others blossoms in law enforcement as he tries to impact every person he talks to positively.
