For those of you that don’t know, Shredmaster Scott is simply using pinch harmonics.

You have the small level of skin lightly brush against the string as play in certain places where you’re picking to get that sound.

Strings are REALLY weird like that, this technique requires a great-in depth look and a lot of practice and experimentation on your part, and even then, it’s a hit or miss at times.
