When my mom was about 12 in the 70s when she was drugged while hitchhiking. She managed to escape mostly unscathed (barely — she had to jump out onto the road before collapsing), but these girls look so much like my mom did in the 70s. It absolutely breaks my heart. ): One of her friends was murdered while biking back from school by a previously convicted child killer that lived in their town...it’s really terrifying how much danger surrounded her, despite being normal for the time.

I feel like I'm always having to say *it doesn't matter if they DID runaway. They're teens. Look for them. It could save a life and prevent so much pain.* I know from experience.

it's so frustrating how in so many of these cases, police/investigators just go "eh, runaway" and do nothing else until they absolutely have to. it's especially disheartening when the victims are so young; 13 years old and a habitual runaway? that's wild to me, any missing 13 year old should be a huge red flag even if they've run away in the past.

i can't believe i had never heard of this case, thank you for sharing it georgia 💖🙏🏻

i lived in santa rosa for 13 years and never heard of this case. it’s weird to have grown up in a community that lowkey shielded this

I too had never heard of this case. Thank you for talking about it and all the work you put into your videos.
It’s almost surprising that any young women survived the 70’s and 80’s in California with the amount of killers active there at the time!!

When you mentioned the earrings I instantly thought of Rodney Alcala the dating game killer.

I have never heard of this b4. I like when you cover lesser known cases like this n I hope DNA will eventually prove who killed these poor girls!
In Ohio there's the I-70 murderer that they've never captured and I've not seen anyone cover it. Would u be interested in looking into it?

Santa Rosa is my hometown and I have never heard of this story! Thank you!

That was interesting why serial killers had a hay day in the 70s. Thanks for sharing that info.
I like the way you framed the hitch hikers and there was just a different mind frame about before the 80s really. You never blame the victim for just doing what they are doing, even if it unknowingly puts them in harms way.
Anyway, thanks. 🌸

Thank you for covering this sad true crime. As a Sonoma County resident I like to see renewed interest as these poor young women should never be forgotten. God bless.

You have the most soothing relaxing voice. I suffer from mental health issues and you have no idea how much your videos help me. Every night I get into bed after work and settle in to watch my nightly Georgia Marie vlog to wind down 😂 Thankyou!

The way you tell these victims stories is my favourite, so much detail while still being respectful, love ya Georgia❤

Would you be interested in doing a full video expanding on the theories as to why there were so many serial killers in the 70s? I think that it would be so interesting for so many people! 💀🖤

I'm so happy you covered this! Crime junkie covered this as a bonus episode a few years back so it was brief I've been interested in it ever since because it's a local case I had never heard of. Super happy your covering it in more detail.

Old ladies at my Bible Study: we didn't have to worry about our kids in the 70s, that stuff just didn't happen back then.
Me: :::begins spouting seriel killer names, and dates of activity like a lunatic:::

Thank you for posting this. I grew up in Santa Rosa and walking well biking distance from the Calistoga Rd sights. I found out about these murders only about 10 years ago and happened to find a web site dedicated to these victims. I was a baby at time of these murders, but I find it odd growing up NO BODY talked about it. You would think that this many girls who go missing (in a much smaller town back then) and get dumped in the surrounding hills that for generations people would be talking, wondering what happened.
After I learned of the murders I took a motorcycle and rode those back roads where they were found. Franz Valley today is pretty "out of the way" with not a lot of residence or vehicle traffic I can only imagine in very early 1970s even more so.
On a side note there is a book that has been published on these murders called The Lost Coast Highway written by Gray George that is really good.
Thanks again
