How To Burst Counter In Nioh 2

The Burst Counter in Nioh 2 is one of the most important aspects of the game. Check out this video to get the timing of the counter down.

Note, the timing given in the video is only for the yokai form being used. The strength form is much, much more forgiving in the timing used - you can trigger it as soon as the red flash appears and it will interrupt the attack almost every time and do some damage to the enemy's health.

This is NOT how to burst counter with all three of them, because they are all completely different. Brute, you want to do it as soon as the enemy flashes, not waiting for it to attack. The Phantom waits because its counter is a block, so you have to literally "block" the attack, while the Brute interrupts it. Feral on the other hand has to teleport and pray the after image gets hit by the enemy's attack.

I bloody hate those burst counters, the game seems to be forcing them on me and I can't get the timing right - 1 out of 2 fail so I can't rely on them. Why were they introduced in the first place?

Do you burst during the red animation? or when they enter your hurtbox with an attack?

It seems broken when playing with multiple people. They should just make it a timing thing if u do it when its red it will automatically make your guys burst countet when the guy starts it. If you fuck it up you don't like a quick time event
