Denver Chinese Martial Arts Championship 2022 - Continuous Sparring, Noel vs Justin, Noel vs Filipe

Had to face two opponents in my sparring division… Back to back =.=

First opponent was Justin. Very polite and friendly guy ^ ^ He definitely had reach and height on me (typical of my matches) so even when I got inside his arms were long enough to still swing from the outside and get in some solid hits. Justin has the easier advantage hitting me from afar so I had to be a little more assertive to control the pace and cramp him in. I ended up winning the match.

Second match starting at 3:21 is against Filipe. I was called back up shortly after my match with Justin, so I didn’t have much time to catch my breath, which is very difficult with a mouthpiece ^ ^’

Filipe and I are actually from the same school so we’re pretty familiar with each other =) He did amazing! He has very good instinct when moving in with his kicks and has great leg control. The match had to pause multiple times because our footwork kept separating the floor mat pieces ^ ^’

Both matches went to me so I placed 1st.
