US House Speaker Pelosi: 'Do Not Be Bullied by Bullies'

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke to the press, Sunday, May 1, in Poland, following her meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv yesterday.

Pelosi said she was “deeply inspired" by the Ukrainian people involved in the conflict in and their desire to save their homeland.

Pelosi also stated the pride she feels in U.S. President Joe Biden and reassured that he understood the "challenges of the fight against democracy versus oppression."

Pelosi is part of a Congressional delegation which is in Poland for talks on the Ukraine situation after visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday in Kyiv.

The delegation's visit comes two days after Biden asked Congress for $33 billion to bolster Ukraine’s fight against Russia, more than twice the size of the initial $13.6 billion aid measure that Congress enacted early last month and is now almost drained.

With the war dragging into its third month, the measure was designed to signal to Russian President Vladimir Putin that U.S. weaponry and other forms of assistance weren't going away.
