Homie took a normal window shaker and made a split unit out of it! 😮 brilliant!

KUDOS for the ingenuity - I've brought 14000btu a heat pump for my truck and was going to keep it in one piece but I may have a look at splitting it down now.

I suggest you have a tank to collect the moisture, that you can dump every day. That way its more stealth

Wondering why you have the compressor inside the van. Also if you are ducting, could you put the evaporator on the floor somewhere?

That’s exactly the idea I had in mind I have been looking for a month for a video like this! Except my idea is to make the roof top one that I have use the 8000 BTU compressor instead of the old 15k one

Question. About to do the same to a truck camper. How is it holding up.? Does the compressor not need a fan to cool it down?, did you braze the cooper extensions your self and recharge or hired someone. Can you share what fan you used under the van. Looks like a slim fan. I need it very slim.

I like the concept, Can I assume you had to run new lines? Typically these window shakers are not designed for a recharge? Would like to know was this a DIY, or hired someone. I like the remote condenser idea, but I'd really be worried about road grime in that location. it does not take much to mess the coils up. Did you consider other locations for the compressor and Condensor, and if so what did you find were the Pro's and Cons? A friend of ours installed a Pioneer Mini Split in her van, Condensor on the rear door, it's kinda ghetto, but it works for her. Sorry lots of questions, but you might be on to something. If I remember right these draw about 5-6 Amps depending on BTU's

cool, i just hope they have 12/24v pump and control panel XD

Its a good idea but the way it is carried out is not very good the condenser is a highpressure sensitive area of the Air Con if one rock or something gets under there it will be totaled in no time and the pipes are not covered aswell.

I would worry about all that water if it was draining right it wouldn’t have a puddle in side the can

Good, but I am not comfortable to see it exposed like that under the chassis.
