If Rugby union was as popular as league or Aussie rules then the Wallabies would have an amazing team, I'm not an Aussie I'm just saying how it is, they have some terrific ball players but Union only gets to pick from a small percentage of that talent. I know other countries have similar disadvantages but not to the degree that Australia has with the the two other football codes .
