BB&Q Band ~ On The Beat 1981 Disco Purrfection Version

Показать описание
Songs like BB&Q's "On The Beat" helped to keep the disco vibe alive after the supposed death of disco. You can thank Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi for this one, in addition to Change (Lovers Holiday, Glow Of Love) for the introduction of Italo Disco that filled the void in dance music and kept me on the floor. The bright and cheery sound channeled Chic and Narada Michael Walden and extolled the virtues of NYC music scene going so far to name themselves "The Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens Band" to cement that connection even though they started off in Italy. Petrus got his start by creating a disco version of Steve Winwood's "I'm A Man" for the studio group Macho along with Mauro Malavasi that peaked at #6 on the disco chart. Their next creation Change hit big with 1980's LP "The Glow Of Love" (nine weeks at #1) and then with "Miracles" in 1981 (Paradise spent five weeks at #1). Kevin Nance, who created they crazy good synthesizer lines in Machine's apocolyptic disco smash "But For The Grace Of God Go I" supplanted the bright groove of "On The Beat" with graceful sweeps and swooshes. The song has been remixed several times over the years, but this is a vinyl rip of the original release from my collection. Hope you enjoy this one!
