I just bought an MA310. Lots of comments here about a lack of physical Tone Controls. You can easily adjust the treble and bass for EACH individual input using the remote or front panel. After that, your settings are retained and used for each input. I'd rather have that than a bunch of knobs. I love the clean simple look of the amp! The only thing I missed was a phono input; had to use a preamp for my vinyl.

Would of been handy if these JBL MA AV Receivers had Preouts to add External Amps

You need complexity for audio. People have different types of rooms, speakers, sound preferences, etc. Would you listen to a car salesman because they are experts? Experts at making you pay more. 😂
