I'm pretty sure Cristi was the vocalist on Iris I. He joined the band in 1980 from Harap Alb. Iris was started by Nelu, Nutu Olteanu (guitar and voice) and Emil Lenchiteanu (bass). Their big hit and probably what started it all was a big concert in 77 at Sala Polivalenta in Bucharest, where Pheonix were supposed to play. However Pheonix members ran away to Germany and the authorities had to improvise with smaller bands, including the 3. That's when people started noticing them

You can get their whole discography online, if you know what I mean. I'd recommend buying the CDs if you can find them though. They sound much better than mp3s. I have that compilation back at home, unfortunately I'm not in the country right now and I can't check if they're remastered or not

Tony, acceptand postul de vocal la IRIS, si-a asumat o sarcina foarte grea. Aceasta este o prima proba pe care o da. Eu cred ca a trecut aceasta proba. Iris nu inseamna doar Cristi Minculescu. Iris a avut multi membrii, care au muncit mult ca sa formeze ceea ce astazi sau ieri este sau a fost Iris. IRIS trebuie respectat cu TOTI membrii: fosti, actuali si de ce nu si viitori.

In 1980 it was Cristi. He left for a period in the 80s (when they had Dan Bittman), then came back. It was quite a common thing for bands in the 70s and 80s to exchange their members among themselves. Sometimes they were changed monthly, so it's quite difficult to keep track of who left when. I doubt even they remember who was in the band and when

Their manager and recording label changed in 2010 if I'm not mistaken. Before they had a contract with Zone Records and the manager was Mike Godoroja. They signed with Cat Music and Cosmin Nicoara after. He changed their sound a bit, Godoroja is a lot into blues so he influenced them into that kind of direction

I don't really know how old he is but he joined his first band in 1993 so yes, he was probably born in the 70s, he's in his 40s.
