So aside from it incorrectly calculating the totals and the percentage profit in the P&L example, it's advice for making more profit is basically sell more or reduce costs? Outstanding. How did we ever do this without AI?

If you check the output, from Gemini’s analysis of the P & L, you’ll quickly realise why this is still in Beta. The output is incorrect… the revenue is not $75, 000 (which is the total of the first two lines). The first four lines are revenue… totalling $87, 000. Therefore the net profit as a percentage is also wrong! This is similar to my experimentation with this model. Not yet reliable, so be very careful with any reliance on the output in a “real use case”.

I pointed camera at my bookshelf and had interesting discussion - Gemini was able to summarize each of my books by looking at spine... if you like, it can also count all your IT related books with white spine, written by woman author... amazing! this way of interaction has never been more human like... and image recognition works in real time!

What Gemini did by rephrasing your question is a customer support technique that human support people do called "active listening". It's an efficient way to reduce back in forth in finding what the customer is trying to say and it gives the support person and the customer refine the question during the conversation. Looks like it's maybe less effective for people like you who think fast want results fast. :)

OMG these AIs are so onerous repeating what is requested! 🤦‍♀

In ChatGPT's Custom Instructions I added an instruction that essentially says 'do not repeat my request when responding...' Doing that is too machine like, impersonal, _huge_ waste of time, and for me infuriating! I'll have to see if there is an option to do the same in Gemini or it would be a no-go for me.

It's incredibly useful. I've been using it in the last few days to improve product listings and descriptions. However, at the moment, it only lasts 2m before cutting out though, which is seriously frustrating.
