Swimming against the current or walking you said and making no progress.
I am a software engineer and this week kicked off, actually end last week it started, with the most complicated issues. I can easily focus and quckly assess what the issues are all about and solve them. Not these days, I am all over the place, forgetting possibilities, so I have to start all over again. At the end of the day I made some progress, but by far not in very quick way, as walking in a mud stream. I am very very careful these days around work, triple checking everything, getting tired if myself.
Yeah the idea of hanging out on that flamingo observing the chaos is very appealing, 😂😂😂😂
