#100 Gearbox grinding went away after lubrication (some parts of the video were reused)
#2 Motor never stalled anymore. Possibly due to better wiring.
#3 Nozzle was drilled to 1.9mm to produce 1.75mm PLA. 1.6mm for ABS, exactly like it was with filastruder.
#4 Recycled plastic extrudes ONLY in horizontal position.

I feel frustrated the American extruder company doesn't reply to emails for days I would expect for the price service would be faster. Filastruder customer service is good but it may be more of a tinkering project than I am ready for. This wellzoom looked promising because it uses a stepper to drive a screw rather than a DC motor that could be prone to voltage swings and slight RPM changes. Then I found your amazon review and then this video. Yikes!!!! I can't win. I feel like all of these check one box but miss another. Thank you for the video and amazon review.

great video. You really drew the AC/DC & Power Switches and power feed Schematics. Just like me and my choolmates had to do in Physics Classes about learning Electrical Circuits.

One small correction for the schematic: the push-button switch needs to be wired across (ie, parallel to) the switched relay terminals. This allows the push-button switch to temporarily bypass the relay in order to provide power to the power supply, thus letting the power supply engage the relay. Your schematic shows the push-button switch in series with the relay switched terminals, which doesn't let the system get powered on.

How consistent do you find the diameter of the extrusion is? Also, have you had any chance to try recycled HDPE with this extruder? Thanks for your video and information!!

Hi, you mentioned in #4 that recycled plastic extrudes only in horizontal positions. If I were to be working with recycled plastic bottle caps (polypropylene) I tried extruding it (with filastruder) in the horizontal position but it had varying thickness which made it very hard to print. Do you have any suggestions to help with my process?

Tony, this setup look ideal for the making of nylon ukulele strings. Can one buy parts for this machine to make extruded line that is as small as .50mm?

Tony - Thank you for the review. Now that you have worked out the initial bugs on this machine (last year), and working with the unit for the last year, would you place purchase for this make/model again? or would you go with a different make/model, keeping within the same price range? I ask because I am seriously thinking about placing purchase for a filament extruder here in the near future. Was looking at possibly making my own from scratch, but after adding up the piece parts, time and effort to do so, its seems it may be more cost effective to place purchase for one in this price range. All advice is welcome. Thank you again for the review on this particular unit.
