Hello everyone, I am Daniel Pronk and in this video I discuss Google's Q2 2024 earnings results (GOOG, GOOGL). Google stock is up 32% this year, and the question everyone wants to know is - is Google stock still a buy? In this video, I do my best to share my thoughts and opinions.

Biggest lesson i learnt in 2023 in the stock market is that nobody knows what is going to happen next, so practice some humility and low a strategy with a long term edge.

Purchasing a stock may seem straightforward, but selecting the correct stock without a proven strategy can be exceedingly challenging. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Can you comment on why price to operating cash flow should anchor to its previous values? For instance, if you didn't know what Amazon and Google have traded for in the past, but only had the info that their price to operating cash flows are currently almost equal, what would make Amazon a buy but Google a sell? I think that would be a really educational video

A really good analysis. However, one thing that bothers me about Google is their insistence of buying back stock when the stock is “expensive”. Why do companies do this? It makes no sense whatsoever. Better to just pay the money out as a dividend. When a company buy’s back their stock at high prices it’s no different to a novice investor “chasing the stock” when it’s overpriced. It actually destroys shareholder value. A better strategy would be for management to husband their resources and wait until the stock goes through its cyclical lows (inevitable) and repurchase the stock then.

I lost over $70k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Charlotte Miller.

Great video as always. Something I disagree with is that an asset can be a “hold”. For me I have sold out of my google position, as I believe if something is a hold, and I wouldn’t purchase more I am leaving opportunity cost on the table by staying invested in the asset. I want to have the highest conviction in assets I buy so much that I would keep buying more, if it gets to the point I wouldn’t buy more that is a sign to sell for me. For the most part I also disagree with the main stream diversification principles, so if hold is for diversification purposes, it would make total sense.

Reasonable but may be too conservative.

Excellent! I used Stock Unlock to compare Price to Free Cashflow & Price to Operating Cashflow for VISA. VISA & Amazon look like more compelling buy candidates (for me anyways).

OCF in this case is sound metric to use indeed. True for all growth-oriented stocks actually.

Great video! One note regarding Google. There are only two public cloud companies in the world that has both cloud infrastructure and AI. Google and Alibaba. Time will tell if this a competitive advantage over other cloud providers.

I would buy GOOGL at a very compressed PE ratio (like Ackman at the end of 2022), but I would prefere to imagine a higher 'terminal PE ratio' (instead of 17 times, may be 25 time could be more sensible). 25 PE (moat & high quality business) Vs. 20 PE (average SP PE of the last 50 years).
