Incredible, that’s a massive palm, so gorgeous! I’m so jealous, I can’t believe Albuquerque is the same zone as D.C., just shows what a difference a dry climate makes. Thanks for sharing, so cool!

Is Washingtonia monoecious or dioecious? Do you need two palms of different sexes to reproduce, or are they hermaphrodites and one palm is enough to produce viable seeds?

Hey, living in Albuquerque right now, that’s frickin awesome dude!! Where exactly was this in Burque… yeah I know palm trees are really hard to grow because of the really cold winters, I documented a palm tree that I first saw in November 2021, it looked amazing, their grass was different so I guess that’s was one of the key factors to making it grow, and then I saw it again in Feburary 2022 after a cold morning low of 4° and only a high of 33° thriving in that hot NM sun!!
