Fremont is a city in the county seat of Sandusky County, Ohio. In 1849 the residents changed the name "Lower Sandusky" to Fremont. The city of Fremont is known for the Battle of Fort Stephenson, a historic battle of the war of 1812. Fremont was home to many Wyandot Indians, and the home to the 19th President of the United States, Rutherford B. Hayes. President Rutherford B. Hayes served as President from 1877 to 1881. Fremont is also home to the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential center, the first Presidential library and museum. President and Mrs. Hayes are buried within the grounds of Spiegel Grove along with a few family pets, such as Old Whiety the Presidents horse. Spiegel Grove was originally 125 acres that Hayes uncle, Sardis Birchard purchased for purpose of building a home there. He called it Spiegel Grove because he considered it "The Grove of Good Spirits". When entering the Spiegel Grove it is very picturesque full of trees and pathways a park like setting, many people are just walking the trails with there families and pets. You can tour the Presidential home and Library Museum for a fee. I was able to tour the Library Museum but the home was closed. I found it very interesting and would encourage anyone in the area to visit Fremont, Ohio. The city is pretty large and has a historical downtown, many of the homes are in a historical district. They have beautiful architect.

When I go there again and I will I have these scrapbooks? Remember, this was a really rich family, from, like the 1900s into the 1950s, they had all the whistles and bells and tails and scrapbooking was big back then, I think I've got probably a couple 100 historical photographs of Fremont, Ohio I will get it to the historical society I mean, you're talking volumes as somebody who send a chronicle and everything. I mean, we even have restaurants from some menus from some restaurants that don't exist anywhere stuff like that. I think one of my relatives want to congressional medal of honoer in the civil war i would like all these photographs a fremont, or higher than one that hands of a historical society

My dad and my aunts grew up there and they were a really prominent family right up to I guess the nineteen fifties they eventually lost all their money and had to strike out on the road. You know, dynasty's come dynasties, go and I believe that ahh jackson was like the counter.Of the family money and then a guy named frank anderson ran the business really well but died suddenly and he had daughters. The problem is that women didn't manage finance back then so they married soldiers and jocks athletes and we all know about those guys in relationship to handling money.I think there was alcoholidism in the family so yeah, buy it, I guess nineteen fifties. My dad was informed, you know there's no trust fund. It's going. He got a good education out of it.But good lord went from the halls of andover prep and ysle university and all this stuff to selling life insurance to black people in chicago, that must have been a hard thing just thought I'd share a story of my family. In fremont, my last name is on a lot of buildings, I think we build something called the piercing.Nx to I don't know whether much of that is left but man we have a nice mausoleum
