well explained. i liked how you mention that all joins begin with a cartesian product of the tables, then are reduced based on other commands.

My SQL DB Design and Dev professor does not want us to use cartesian products and will give us 0s on assignments if we use them. (He instead wants us to select on one table and join everything to it). Dave doesn't seem to be as against them in this video. Why is that? Aren't they bad practice?
