The Problem with Nintendo Switch Remakes...

Nintendo keeps releasing remakes on Nintendo Switch. But is it something to worry about? Lets discuss the future of Nintendo's 2024!

I would have never played Metriod Prime if they didn't remake it. So I don't think its a problem if its an upgrade to the original but if its just a rip of the original game then it is a problem because your paying more for less.

I mean, the obvious answer is that the new system is in the works of being released, which you do bring up too. I love the remakes, and I love playing ttyd for the first time.
I want an excuse, however, to play Twilight Princess again without motion controls. I doubt we'll ever get the wii u ports of both WW and TP, but I can hope.

Wii U owners rise up the wii u will forever be my childhood console and no one can take that away from me it had a few amazing games that will not be ported Splatoon will always be the first shooter game I ever played and I love it

I remember when they added so many remakes/remasters/ports to the 3ds when it was still getting games in 2017-2019 when the switch was released. Like, yoshi's wooly world +poochy, superstar saga, captain toad treasure tracker, bowser's inside story, luigi's mansion and kirby extra yarn. It was pretty obvious that support and games were coming to an end to the 3ds, which is kinda showing here to the switch now.

Considering most of them are making games on underperforming consoles (The Gamecube, the Wii U) accessable to a wider audience and the ones that aren't like Mario RPG and Mario vs Donkey Kong are genuinely huge upgrades? Heck no, there aren't too many! Infact give me more.

Where's HD Wooly World with updated Amiibo support and the 3DS Poochy levels? Where's DKC Returns with the 3DS world and a funky new mode? Where's Kirby and the Rainbow Curse with pointer controls (and touch for handheld mode/switch lite)? Where's Prime 2 HD? Where's the Oracle Zelda games remade in the Link's Awakening engine? Where's Metroid Zero Mission remade by Mercury Stream in the Dread engine? Where's the Wii U HD Zelda ports? Where's Golden Sun and The Lost Age remade into one cohesive game as they were intended to be back on N64? I want damn it!

I just think it's great that we're getting all of these older games ported, remastered, and remade for the Switch. It allows for them to be more accessible for those who didn't buy the originals when they released, and Nintendo has such a massive lineup of legacy titles with like an endless amount of great older games to bring over

honestly....if you saw the price of some of these games before the remakes...it really makes me grateful for them. pikmin 1 is like 100 and pikmin 2 like 150. paper mario 100-140...

I mean, its both good and bad. Good that people who never got to play games like ttyd or Luigi's mansion 2, but also they could just offer some of these games on their online service

We're at the end of the Switch's lifespan. I was expecting it to be remakes galore.

I have a Wii U and still use it. MK8 with its DLC; SM 3D World, DKC TF, some Virtual Console games. It's such a bummer they closed the 3DS and Wii U éShop AND in addition to that, shut down their online servers now.

First of all, some of these games are over 2 decades old, and second, Gamecube & Wii Nostalgia is hot on the table at the moment.

I really am starting to developed remake fatigue and I wish AAA game studios would focus more on original game ideas rather than remaking existing games because I think we need games that push the medium forward in terms of gameplay and storytelling.
