The potential of digital innovation to profoundly transform the healthcare system is increasingly undeniable. While improving patient safety and outcomes has never seemed more achievable, digitalisation is also expected to enhance team resilience, enabling them to manage an ageing population and growing care demands.

However, realising this ambition hinges on healthcare systems seizing innovation as an opportunity to reimagine care pathways and reshape the work habits and culture of healthcare teams. This places significant pressure on medical teams across Europe to heavily invest in digital transition, at a time when they are fatigued and undermined by shortages.

The objective of this discussion is to emphasise the necessary conditions for successful digital transition and underscore the importance of prioritising patient safety and healthcare staff well-being as guiding principles.
