Today we deal with claim #2, "It's not a sin to be gay."
I hope I can help us to think a bit more deeply about this.

I was recently interviewed by Alisa Childers and I've taken that interview and broke it down into topical videos dealing with the 23 different claims made by the "progressive Christian" Ragamuffin TV. You'll see a new video EVERY DAY until the whole series is uploaded.

Here are the links to the long form interviews which are on Alisa's channel

"In reality Christianity is very oppressive to the flesh." WOW! That's the whole reason they hate the message.

We're all "born that way", as in born in sin. The onus is on us to repent, become born again, and live the remainder of our days as we are instructed by His Word.

“Christianity is not oppressive to the person, it’s oppressive to the flesh”... Wow, so true. Cuts right to the heart of the matter. Thanks for another great video, Mike & Alisa!

Y’all made a great point in saying that it depends on what you mean by “gay”. I’ve read comments on other videos from people who were mistreated in church because they’re a man who likes the color pink, a woman who’s a mechanic, and so on. We, as Christians, need to remember that just because somebody’s interested in something that’s *considered* manly or girly, doesn’t make them gay. If they’re attracted to, and acting on those feelings toward the same sex, or if they believe that they were born in the wrong body and are actually trying to behave like the opposite gender, that’s another story. Just thought I’d expound a little more on the subject. I hope it helped somebody

The quote about the bible oppressing the flesh hit different

I agree with you Mike, that’s the same conclusion I came to realize. When a Christian family has a child come to them with this issue then they need to realize and understand this concept you are presenting.

Mike you've got a real gift of articulation. The way you explain these issues is so wonderful. Thankyou so much, there is so much here that we can use in conversations with others. Thankyou and God Bless you x

I'm a gay man who grew up within the Church but recently has been struggling a lot with it. Either way how this works out, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your teachings, Mr. Winger!

Delivered from homosexuality and filled with the joy of the Lord!! You must grasp the concept of laying it ALL down, sexual desires included, at the feet of Jesus. I was inspired by Paul. He was beaten, stoned, and tormented for the sake of the gospel. I was reading these things about Paul and asked myself why is your sexual desires more important than your obedience to the word? Paul gave it all for the kingdom and you let carnal desires overtake you? I’m so free now. Thank you Jesus.

The extra layer I would add on top is that a pattern of temptation does not make an identity. This single truth has given me so much power to live in true freedom as a man who finds himself predominantly attracted to men but at a far less frequency than I used to be. It's not an identity, just like "alcoholic" is no longer an identity for someone who has stopped drinking altogether but is still tempted. Being sold out for the kingdom while walking in single celibacy is way more satisfying than anyone who hasn't walked it out would lead you to believe.

That's a issue I see a lot today. When people cherry pick the Bible to fit their viewpoints, and discard anything they don't like. If the Bible says something's a sin, there's no changing it. And I love how you said Christianity is not oppressing to the person, but the person's flesh. That was a eye opener for me. Can't wait to see the next one tomorrow.

Thank you for sharing them in this breakout format. I watched and enjoined the 2 full episodes. This format gives me the opportunity to real think about the issues and go to the LORD in prayer when needed.

At the end of the video, Alisa explained so beautifully everything that I feel.
I wish I could arrange words like that instead of blocking every time in a social encounter.
My brain just goes blank. 🙄
