Lev Konstantinovich Durov was born on December 23, 1931 in Moscow, in the family of Konstantin Vladimirovich and Valentina Ignatievna Durov. Lev Durov's father is the nephew of famous circus artists.

Lev was seriously interested in theater from school, studied in a drama studio. After entering the Moscow Art Theater School, he studied in the class of Georgy Avdeevich Gerasimov and Sergei Kapitonovich Blinnikov.

After graduating from the Moscow Art Theater Studio School, he worked for about 10 years at the Central Children's Theater. For four years Lev Durov played on the stage of the Lenin Komsomol Theater, and since 1967 he began playing in productions of the Moscow Drama Theater on Malaya Bronnaya, on the stage of which he played for almost half a century.

In addition to successful acting work, Durov, after graduating from the Higher Directing Courses, became a stage director and staged performances at the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya.

Lev Durov began acting in films in 1954 and played more than 200 roles. His most famous works in cinema are roles in such legendary films as: "Seventeen Moments of Spring", "Kalina Krasnaya", "The Three Musketeers", "Zoshchenko's Stories", "Farewell to Mater", "Bumbarash", "Don't be afraid, I'm with You", "The Man from Capuchin Boulevard", "Orphan Kazan", "Don't fool around" and many others that brought the actor great popularity and love of the audience.

In parallel with his work in theater and cinema, Durov also taught at the Moscow Art Theater Studio School, took part in the dubbing of many cartoons. He is the author of the books "Sinful Notes", "Tales from Behind the Scenes" and "Encore Tales".

A full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, academician of the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts "NIKA", Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of the USSR, holder of the Order of Friendship of Peoples, "For Services to the Fatherland" IV and III degrees, laureate of various international film festivals - Lev Konstantinovich was the owner of many public awards, one of which he especially respected The award is a Golden Order of the International Charitable Foundation "Patrons of the Century", because this award - a sign of respect and recognition of the artist's contribution to the cause of charity and patronage.

Until the end of his days, Durov continued his work in cinema and theater.

On August 20, 2015, Lev Konstantinovich Durov died in Moscow after a long illness, and was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery of the capital.
