You did a very good job of restoring the insert, Jake. Has Chris found time to work on the unit that you gave to him? Along with your wood sales, you should bundle in some type of fire started, and a chimney sweep service. You could offer a unique package to people in your area. Really enjoy your videos.

Wow, you reminded me when I did my wood insert years ago. I had the same issue with the metal liner getting stuck and did the same as you but I used a track and field cone that my son had. Peace a cake with it. The insert is going to reduce your oil bill big time. I placed my temp gauge as close to exhaust pipe as you can since that will give the best temp reading. If you don’t have that access you will have to play around with different spots like over the middle of the stove. Lastly I clean my chimney from the ground up works great no climbing up to the roof. I place a box in the insert to catch the debris and place the first brush up the flute cut a hole for the stick part of the brush tape plastic around the door and clean away. Nice job.

The stove looks amazing! Wish my home would support a wood burner for heat in the winter but unfortunately we can't. 😢.

I usually jump the automatic fan switch. I feel that they take too long to come on and wastes heat. Great install. I’ve done 4 in my life and have used a garage funnel on mine every time. Works well.

Jake, I have the exact model insert in my house. Inside of it looks great. Nice job restoring it. I put the thermometer on the top front on mine. The fan blows out of the top and its blows some heat! Nice job on the stove! You might have to open some windows lol ! I like the idea of a pallet dolly!

That’s where I put the thermometer on my Regency wood stove insert. I believe the thermometers are designed to put on the flu pipe of a wood stove so they don’t actually show the pipe temp when on the stove but they are good to show you a relative temp. ie. We regulate the air intake so our thermometer is between 11:00 and 2:00.
