It’s not always easy to choose the right Toto Drake Toilet. Especially when Toto has over 70 different variations on the model. In this video I break down the three main categories and several sub categories of each version of the toilet. As usual below are my top picks in each category.

TOTO CST744E#01 Eco Drake Two-Piece Elongated 1.28 GPF Toilet, Cotton White

TOTO CST454CUFG#01 Drake II 1G Two-Piece Elongated 1.0 GPF Universal Height Toilet with CEFIONTECT, Cotton White

TOTO CST746CEMFG#01 Drake Two-Piece Elongated Dual Flush 1.28 and 0.8 GPF Universal Height DYNAMAX TORNADO FLUSH Toilet with CEFIONTECT, Cotton White

I just bought the Toto Drake 2 with a 1.6 flush. Because 2 of our Toilets are fairly far to the sewer drain. There for need more water to get to the sewer. As a plumber. Some of these 1 Gal. Per flush toilets. Are not enough water to flush all the waste and carry it to the sewer.
So people have to know about this before. Thinking only about water savings. Plus not enough water from a single flush. By not having enough water for a single flush of TP and waste. Can cause a clog down the drain line.
And now your paying for a plumber.
Something to think about.

Can you explain why Toto has so many toilet seats and price points ? Still can't figure which one to buy. Give me a model number and i'll go with that. ALSO: why Cotton White, instead of just plain old White in toilets Thanks.

We remodeled and got our first Toto toilets with the Acquia models that have the duel flush button. BOTH toilets had broken buttons within the first year. So it's only a one flush system anyway because the button that's smaller is depressed in. At least the 1.6 gallon button works.
I agree with the other duel flush annoyances. I'll stick with a handle next time.

Great info! Just found out Home Depot lists 319 different models of Toto toilet, egads! From the reviews, these are items people find important, that I would never have thought of: rim height (15" is old standard, 17" new 'ADA'), elongated vs round, size of water pool in toilet (i.e. does poop hit water or sides). I have an old Toto Drake that I would like to buy again, but now the models are different it seems.

I tell you, I love Toto, but was not real happy with the flush on my 15-year old or so Toto Drake with the old power gravity until I switched the flapper from the Korky to Fluidmaster adjustable (with the holes on the side and a ring you rotate to adjust how much of the hole is exposed). I know Totos come with Korky/Lavelle flappers and Toto recommends them but there was a dramatic increase in the flush power.

I live in Roswell NM. We have the hardest water in the country. Our water is used by water heater manufacturers to estimate the heater going out the day after the warranty. That being said, we keep our 3.5 gpr toilets and the flappers last several years, lol

Trying to decide on the best value Toto toilet, 1.28 in California, elongated. Need best flush technology to eliminate #2 (is it tornado?) I will add a toto bidet I have already purchased. What’s the best seat hight as I am concerned the bidet may make it too high for 10 yeAr old boy. Thx!

But which one can eat golf balls? Now, that's what I need to know. Seriously though, would the ultraflush II or III be the best flushing toilet, Im not sure if Im confusing the Ultraflush with another brand of toilet.

I plan to buy the Drake toilet for my new house build. Glad I found this. Better yet you mentioned Darkwing Duck and you are absolutely rightist is underrated.

Would you go for the drake dual flush or single flush? Any considerations if i go for dual flush (more complex, easier to break, etc?) thanks and great content

FWIW, Since the first Governor Brown governorship, I still practice the "If it's yellow, let it mellow, If it's brown, flush it down." When I'm home alone, I generally only flush #1 every 3rd or 4th time anyway.

Interested in the Toto Drake II but in a round bowl. Also the tornado flush and CeFIONtect 1.28 if possible. but I don't mind 1.6 gpf.

70 models may seem strange to people in the US. Go to a Japanese department store, and there will be a toilet DEPARTMENT.

Looking for a new toilet - I’ve read reviews on the Drake II (elongated) about how they have cleanse issues with ‘man parts’ - like the bowl is shallow. Has anyone had a similar experience? I really want a TOTO - but not this ‘feature’...can anyone confirm or deny?
Do the Drake II and Ultra Max II (both elongated) have the same bowl ‘profile’? Thanks for any advice.

As part of a total master bath remodel (doing it all myself) I just replaced our 30 year old Briggs, which probably used 4 gallons per flush (or more) with a new Toto Drake ii 1.28 gal single flush with elongated seat. I put a Toto Soft Close seat on it. I thought about getting a 1.0 gal but decided to go for slightly bigger capacity, which is still less than half the value our old Briggs had so I expect we will save enough $$ after about 3 years to pay for the Toto. When I first saw how much water was in the bowl I though "no way this is going to flush solids", but I was wrong. I've been amazed at how efficient this thing is. I'm loving this tornado flush system, and love the idea that I likely won't need to replace a stupid flapper valve every year or two.

By the way, I did not use a wax ring for the install. Instead a friend told be about the Fluidmaster seal and that's what I used - it was so much easier and you can remove and reposition the toilet after the install, which is really nice.

I believe the Drake II only comes in 12" rough in. 10" rough in is only available on the original Drake.

Hi, thanks for the information you provided in this video. Knowing manufacturers constantly improve their product, at this time, what two piece ADA elongated toilet do you recommend?
