However, out of these, I have to say Koki Niwas was cooler.

Ma Long's chop block is a set up for Ma to counter and end a point if his opponent chop the ball back. Koki's chop block is a straight chop block and will force his opponent to hit through the chop video clips doesn't really show how Ma and Koki used them in games, those featured are just highlight clips.

I’ve noticed Ma Long starting to integrate more chop blocks (actual pace-changing sidespin chops) into his game. Would you like to comment on this trend, or get onto the actual mechanics of the shot? I can do the shot on the forehand side, but struggle with it on the backhand.

What? They have nothing to do with each other, in the video only the koki niwa was a chop block, Ma long did an active block. He does rarely chop blocks.

Look Niwa is better because he clearly intended to chop block whereas Ma Long ‘flukes’ it. You could even argue it was not a chop block but how his intention to get the ball into play turned out. Loki is a better chop blocker based on this footage because the ease of which he does it shows it is second nature
Obviously they are world class players but just cause Long is the best (was the best??) does not mean that he has a monopoly of every type of stroke and it’s execution. There are players who can do things better than Long .

Those saying Ma Long's own is better I wonder what they are based on... it's high time we learn to analyse things the way they should be and be realistic about it

Ofcourse koki niwas chop block is of God level difficult to cope up . But I prefer Ma long's chop block because the after effect it creates. Once Ma long does a chop block the ball returns to him in the way he can attack with that disastrous forehand which is difficult to stop after returning the chop block. We can say it's his own way of chop block and attack combined ❤️❤️

Koki Niwa's technique is way better. Ma Long's execution wasn't really a chop block. It's like shield the face 😂😂😂
