When I was a little kid, a big civil war had just broken in my home country, Uganda ... my late dad and dear mum did everything to take us out to safe refuge, in exile .... unfortunately, we were faced with hostility everywhere we went ... one day, after we had been camping for almost a month at Juba Airport just to take a simple plane ride out of South Sudan (to Cairo, Egypt) and ultimately to Nairobi, Kenya ... my late dad, (out of desperation) said this little prayer to us:
"my dear beloved children, even though our home has been decimated and destroyed by our enemies, even though we never wronged anyone, we sleep on this dingy airport floor tonight, not because we are homeless, but because we understand that, "a house is built by hands whereas a home is built by hearts" ... even though we have no house to sleep in tonight, we are still at home in our hearts ... we will get back home to Uganda someday .... 11 years later in 1986, we finally returned home back to Uganda and we are rebuilding our country today ... this song reminds me of that hallowed journey ... I don't know whether to cry or laugh ... because I know that am on bended knees thanking my Lord for giving us a safe passage!
