Mackie Thump Go Review - the only DJ speaker you'll ever need?

preview_player
Показать описание

The Mackie Thump Go is a marvel of a speaker. Not much bigger than a standard studio monitor, it is in fact a small PA speaker, with pro inputs and outputs, a long-lasting replaceable rechargeable battery, Bluetooth, and a mini live mixer built in. For the size, it sounds great. For DJs, a pair of these may be the only speakers you ever need for DJ practice, small parties, and just throwing in the trunk to play down the beach with Bluetooth.

Used this at a house party recently. Was heard 490 yards away. Insane sound

It great I use them all the time for house/park parties and although you wouldn’t use them from wedding receptions it’s a perfect complement for outdoor wireless battery powered wedding ceremony systems..and they work great as monitors when DJing a wedding reception with larger speakers

I bought this speaker, and it's amazing!! This is the speaker I only need, for personal use and parties because it goes loud and hard!!

Definitely a speaker for most DJ's to have on hand. The Thump GO is a great backup speaker, booth monitor, and great for outdoor events where power is limited. Love it! Great review as always :D

Thanks for the review Phil! This is something I have to invest in for weddings I’m starting to do at the beach for ceremonies and cocktail hour.

Great review, Phil! I've got a pair of these and I think they're absolutely brilliant for most of the reasons you mentioned (small, light, great sound, long battery life, etc.). Would they replace my main speakers array if I were doing an event in a big room?... No. But I'd use them in a heartbeat for an outdoor party, wedding ceremony, house party, beach party, DJ monitors, as satellite speakers in an extra room, etc. They're also fantastic for the purpose for which I picked them up. To DJ sets in out of the way locations where power outlets might be scarce. Pair these little beauties with a Denon Prime Go and you've got yourself the ultimate battery powered DJ setup. BTW, folks... Though they may be small in size, they do live up to their name and pack a surprising amount of thump.

Great review! I bought 4 and use them 3-4 times a week, plenty loud indoor outdoor, the battery does last at least 6 hrs never had to use them longer, 50% volume battery is still on the green after 5 hrs! Bought 4 spare batteries and they rock, the bluetooth does work well, as far as using them for speech the mic channel is not hot on the output so I usually run a battery powered mixer, believe it or not they are hard to find but I use a Behringer Battery powered mixed if I need to go wireless

Very interesting little speaker. Great size for using as a monitor for DJing, as well as a tailgating BT speaker. Thank you!

These are my go-to paired with a Denon Prime go on a small clamp table stand with 2 pole mounts. Perfect portable ceremony setup used with a senheisser wireless lapel, all battery powered!

Great review and nice touch to have an app. As a dj in bars and clubs but also sometimes small events I have the JBL Eon One and love it. As a singer also it is great that it has "reverb" on it. Looking at this and the JBL Eon One they basically have the same thing just the Mackie does not have Reverb. The JBL also has control of Bass and Treble vs Modes on the Mackie. The JBL also does have two USB-A ports which I have never used but might be good for others. The JBL also has two 1/8" ports (one for AUX and one for headphones). I have used the Mackie Thumb before for bigger events (non wireless) and always loved the sound. All in all, it is nice to have options now, and yes they are great to also have at home for producing and feeling - hearing how the music will sound. I have had problems though when wanting to use the bluetooth on the JBL though I rarely use it when at home.

This seems like just the battery speaker I am looking for, however everyone that loves them in use has two. Is this still the best speaker for house party/rooftop use? Would typically be what I use them most for. Thanks!

Thanks for this video!! I now have two Mackie Go’s because of this review and I love them!! But now I want a subwoofer without breaking the bank after getting two of these. Any recommendations? And if I should get one big one or two medium ones to pole mount the Go’s on the subs. Thanks so much for all your reviews again!

GREAT INFORMATION, thank you. I am in the middle of deciding whether I/we want to purchase a pair of these for our outdoor wedding ceremonies. I have been a DJ for 15 years. Yes, we have much larger powered speakers for everything else. We use a JBL EON ONE PRO for battery powered ceremonies, but looking to have a matching pair of two that can be pole mounted. Thanks again man.

I was thinkn about getting this one too. Can you review a portable sub?

Thanks for your review, it convinced us to buy one. Then we got another one! Two of these on stands along with a powered 12 or 15 inch sub will blow you away in a small club, especially in a stereo set-up. Excellent with a BOSS GT-1 battery operated guitar and vocal pedals.

Great overview - thanks! How would I go about connecting this to a phono out controller?

I did a outdoor speaker test on my Harbinger vari v2310, I set the main volume knob to 3:00 and it's Extremely Loud when you do 80 ft back away it's still loud and I can feel the bass all the way there. And no it does not blow my speaker up. I really enjoyed my new 10-in speaker 😎💯

Great video, thanks! I have 1 mackie thump go and 1 mackie subwoofer... is it best to plug the sub into channel 1 or the 'thru' port on the thump go? OR doesn't matter / make difference.
