Matt Walsh’s new film “Am I Racist?” has sparked a controversy about if and when it is okay to deceive. Mainstream media outlets continue to use a tragic death in Georgia to claim pro-life laws are causing women to die. John and Maria discuss why this story is actually about the harms of chemical abortion. And the Emmys send us back to the 90’s and a debate between a sitting Vice President and TV actress.

As a life long Southern Baptist, I’m disappointed in their march towards the left, so I’m not surprised they would be critical of this film. The movie was brilliant in that it let the targets themselves expose the idiocracy of their own ideology. We are at war in this culture, this is a spiritual war! It took a Catholic to actually move beyond their words and actually engage this wicked culture. We have too many pastors, especially in the SBC, that are luke warm and riding the fence. Yes, this is a spiritual war and we could use a few more Bonhoeffers in this fight! Just a great film! Highly recommend!

Is there a spiritual war? I’d argue yes. Why would you not use camouflage in war.

When pharaoh asked the midwives to kill the babies in the book of Exodus, not only did they refuse, but they also lied to Pharos because they feared God. In verse 20 of Exodus, chapter 1, the scripture say so God was good to the midwives and the people multiplied, and they became very mighty. Because the midwives feared God, he established households for them -these words speak for themselves.

The issue of what someone sees after a chemical abortion is not negligible. I remember during the lockdown reading a report of a student at UCLA who obtained abortion medication remotely, with minimal medical advice or counselling. Her comment after the event was ‘I didn’t know what came out would look like a baby’. You can be astonished that a student at an elite university had no idea of basic biology, but even more amazed that those who prescribed the medication had no thought to prepare the patient for the consequence of taking the medication. If abortion is such a liberating experience, why would you not tell people what the wonderful result is?

I absolutely agree that babies shouldn’t be manipulated in photos, etc.

Do people in certain positions have distinct ethical obligations? Eg researcher studying deception; police investigator; investigative journalist
