Are the Heil-Ly the biggest frauds in HxH? When it comes to backstory powerscaling, yes.

I'm so glad I found your channel. Your videos have really upped my appreciation for this current arc. Keep up the good work.

Your point of the Heli'ly treating all of this as a game is really proven by Padile's reaction to Hinrigh killing him, a blissful moan before he drops to the ground, saying "oh yeah...", he just wanted blood and pain, giving it or taking it.

I also think the have-nots of camila's camp are worth bringing into the discussion as another side to this parallel, as a disfranchised class of people who instead of organizing violent extremism themselves, have been played and manipulated by the elite into violence against others.

Camila does nothing to improve their situation, or give them independence and power, she simply twists their entire being to dependence on her, to the point of zealous suicide.

The weirdest part of all this is how you can kill a phantom troupe member to join the phantom troupe. Given their core motivation, that makes no sense. I wonder if that is tied to some sort of nen vow. We also saw Chrollo sending Beleonov into some pretty serious danger at the beginning of this arc. Was that just trust in his abilities, or does Chrollo treat new members differently from original members? I wonder if he'd be this pissed off if only Kurtopi had died.

I love these analysis style videos. I never noticed these parallels and I will definitely pay more attention to the Heil-Ly going forward. Until now I didn't really care about them but after watching this video, I kinda like them.
Thanks CJ

An excellent analysis of what is HxHs biggest underlying theme: criminal psychology, or what creates a criminal. This series examines the fringes of society and has a special relationship with those on the outside looking in, which is why I think so many of its villains end up being sympathetic figures despite being objectively evil. I believe Togashi does have a personal bias towards the traditional victims of a society, but he still tries to make the traditional benefactors of a society at least understandable in their motivations for committing evil. Anyway, great video!

Definitely gotten that juxtaposition with the entire set of [presumably] main villains of the Succession War. With perhaps the exception of Genthru if only because he's not really fleshed out by comparison, every prior arc's main villain has had something that shackles them to life and humanity. Tserriednich and Morena both have a deep contempt for humanity and want to see it all burned down. The key difference between them being that Morena doesn't seem to care if she's around after while Tserri wants to be the king of ashes.

I can't imagine what dealing with Togashi's back problems are like, but I've dealt with chronic pain and at my lowest I've felt exactly like Morena. I can't help but feel her character is rooted in that kind of mental state that pain drives you into.

I have a self divulging fantasy. I would love to see Chrollo go on another hallmark killing spree while checking off the boxes until reaching that person he needs to steal the ability from, only to fail miserably. After gathering all of the national treasures, we would be invested to see him cross the finish line. But wouldn’t it be a wonderful twist if we got a throw back to the hunter exam? If Hisoka was watching Chrollo complete his tasks out of admiration and waiting for his prey to reach the powerful state he desired. Then, after watching him fail, he would take out his final obstacle for Chrollo and drop it at his feet so he could complete his mission, just like how he did for Gon. Then similarly to Gon in the Chimera Ant Arc, Hisoka would sit across from Chrollo, waiting for him to complete the absorption of the ability so he can fight him right after. The tension and twist of the situation would send me straight to heaven. I think it would be a 10 out of 10 way for us to get the intro to the final battle between the two.

Of course I enjoy these more literary analysis type videos too! As long as they are as well thought out as the rest of your content, I welcome it.
