Local mechanic told me the book says it takes 7 hours to do this job. He wanted $750.00 just for labor. I ended up doing it myself in 2 hours. Thank you for the video.

I just did my 2010. You don't have to remove any of the front end bumper or grill or radiator. I just took out the fan assembly and it came out fine. The alternator bracket that is hidden you can use a mirror and line up the 12mm socket from the top and get that out. Then wiggle the alt out enough to get to the 12mm bolt on the alternator and remove the bracket. Throw that POS out. All it does is hold a wire, complete waste. It is not used on any other Toyota 3.5. Don't take the belt off either unless you are replacing it. Just slide it off the alternator pulley and leave the rest on. Make sure you have a long ratchet to get that bottom bolt out to clear the pulleys and give you a grip on it to break it free. A long breaker bar may work also. You just need the length.

I tried 2010 rx350.
It doesn't need to remove bumper. You can remove grill instead that gonna be easier.
Anyway, this is great video that I was really helpful for job. Thanks😊😊

After remove bracket bolt from alternator, you should detached wire harness (that connects crank shaft position sensor) from the bracket. I removed without this job and wire harness was disconnected so I had to replace wire and plus compressor job. This video is not suitable for beginners and you should be careful.

PSP on your diagram is not a Power Steering Pump. The car has electric steering. It does have an AC Compressor and that is what PSP should say. All said.. terrific demonstration. Folks should watch it twice before attempting - especially the plastic crap. This is not your father's Oldsmobile.

Replacing an alternator on this car is harder than replacing the starter 😔🤦‍♂️

You do not have to remove the bumper to do this. I’ve done this twice.
