White Plains Road Bronx, NY Walking Tour - Major North-South Thoroughfare of New York

White Plains Road is a major north-south thoroughfare which runs the length of the New York City borough of the Bronx. It runs from Castle Hill and Clason Point in the south to Wakefield in the north, where it crosses the city line and becomes West 1st Street of Mount Vernon, New York. The Bronx River Parkway lies to its west and parallels much of its route. Between Magenta Street & 217th Street, White Plains Road is very wide due to the presence of the Gun Hill Road station house in the road's median.

Thank you for posting this awesome video. I moved to Houston two years ago, and got home sick. I was surprised to find this gem. That is exactly where I grew up. When you passed 232 st my old block I got to see by old building. Thank you again for the video.

Great job on this video.
I lived in the Bronx when I was a kid and remember White Plains Road. I went to first and second grade at PS 21 just near there. My first grade teacher there was Mrs Tom, The Atom Bomb! This was a long time ago. Nearly 70 years.
My folks would take me to a pizza restaurant there. Excellent pizza!
Also back then there was a movie theater
Where I saw my first movie. It was Bambi!
Times have changed but this neighborhood is not changed that much. Thanks again for the great Cinematography you did! 😅

THAT MCDONALDS AT E. 232ND my aunt lived on that street! iwent to the chinese restaurant close to 233street! when i visited the Bronx in 96 and 99! I really enjoyed those summers! ;)
