It's not that he simply "mishandled." He maliciously mishandled and lied for two years about even having them. In the meantime, he is documented to have showed his friends, all while maintaining business and social ties to Saudi, Russia, and China. So...WHY LIE about having them? WHY LIE if the intent was not to use those documents as personally needed? What was the point of having so many documents and having his lawyers lie about having anything?
