It is not the protesters job to defend Biden. As leader, he should inspire people to want to vote for him through his policies. If his policies are leading people in a direction that would result in his defeat, he should change them. He doesn’t want to. Biden is intent on allowing Trump to win, not the voters.

Well, tell Biden to step aside. If Biden and his people don't care, why should anyone else?

Civil disobedience goes much farther back in American history. It's been a crucial part of most campaigns for change in our history including the labor rights movement during the brutal era of The Guilded Age (domination by Robber Baron capitalism), back to the movement to end slavery and even before that for the movement to separate from England.

Protest certainly helped to end US war crimes and agression in Indochina. But it was ultimately the resistance of the Vietnamese that ended the war. But protest here did raise the domestic costs of aggression as the US could not declare a national mobilization WW2 style, which was very good for the economy.

My dearly departed spouse also participated in the '68 take over. He was in the math building. When the cops came in, he found a place to hide beneath the floor boards and was witness to the cops trashing the bldg after beating students while throwing them out
