Kinfisher Offshore 3025 Bad Weather

Out in a snotty South Easter in the Pacific North West. Salmon fishing for winter spring salmon. The boat handled the weather well fishing on auto pilot and only down wind.

I wanted to show people how the boat handled in bad weather. There wasn't many video's of these boats in bad weather. Running into the wind the boat is doing about 14 knots, and down wind later in the video we're doing about 21 knots. Wave height was between 5' and 8', I understand that the video will make them look smaller.

We had a couple waves come over the bow of the boat with no major issue. The boat was trimmed properly but the wave length was short. To keep the speed down while trolling we would bump the boat in and out of gear.

While trolling we had a three humpback whales come basically right beside the boat.

That's pretty gnarly. Ran seas like that out to Montague island in AK two years ago, had to turn back as they were building. Seeing greenwater every third wave is unnerving.

Curious to know whether once one is in seas like this, does the music automatically switche on?

She handled the wave smoothly. Not like the kingfisher 3025 we usually saw that would just smashed into the wave

I’m looking at upgrading to the 3025 Destination next year. My only concern is the gunnels seem a bit low. What are your thoughts on the sides? I know the deck is self bailing, but I’m worried about accidentally falling over if out back fishing in semi-rough seas.

i'd be careful in this situation ? the way boats are massed produced i wouldn't trust those windows ? should have storm windows ? one of those coulda went right through

Can this 3025 run with twin 250s? Twin 300s?

That weather would be not a thing for my kingfisher K26.

Those aren't 5-8 foot seas. Maybe 3-5 foot. And yes I live in the PNW, I'm used to our weather here. Very stupid to mount that GoLight on your bow rail and then point it back to the cabin. Your going to blind yourself when you turn it on.
