Draw the E and Z isomers of pent-2-ene

E and Z do not DIRECTLY correlate to Trans and Cis isomers, but it can feel that way sometimes.
* Draw the double bond
* Sketch one version of the isomer, doesn't matter which one
* Use Cahn-Ingold-Prelog to figure out which of the things is higher priority (do this for both C's)
* If the two higher-priority groups are on the SAME side of the horizontal axis of the double bond, it's (Z). Opposite side of horizontal axis = (E)
