UNDINE Movie Review **SPOILER ALERT**

Gay homosexuals Nick and Joseph spoil Undine - a 2020 German-French drama film directed by Christian Petzold. It was selected to compete for the Golden Bear in the competition section at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival. At Berlinale, Paula Beer won the Silver Bear for Best Actress.

Premise: Undine works as a historian lecturing on Berlin's urban development. But when the man she loves leaves her, the ancient myth catches up with her. Undine has to kill the man who betrays her and return to the water.

I haven't seen anything else by this director besides this, but I'm intrigued enough to check them out. I think this was well-made, though I agree about the point about there not being that much tension. I didn't always follow everything that was going on, truth be told, but it was well-acted, and was visually nice. Might need to give it another go at some point, as I was expecting something a bit different - maybe a bit less grounded than this was. Great review!

Thanks for bringing this film to my attention. I have seen the directors other films and loved all of them. I found Undine very haunting and engaging. Mysterious magical moments won me over. Christoph Undine romance very hot.

Interesting comments, felt like Nick was actually quite into the movie. I am too, just watched it and thought there was a bunch load of tension and drama because of the little words that were actually exchanged by the characters but you could just feel the emotions.
