My theory is similar to the last one that was mentioned in that the Onward and Monster Inc. universe are on the same planet but in different corners of the planet/world. So it would be interesting to know if the Monster and the Fairy Tale creatures interact in some way or if they are distant and/or divided by conflict.

Also, maybe boo/the witch from brave was the keeper of the Phoenix Gem? I think this because the witches raven looks like the ravens points in onward. This is only what I think.

One thing which now is making me old is looking at the animation for November third 2001’s Monsters Inc and Onward. I was five versus now 24 years old, I was scared, and thought Sully and Mike also Randall were real at five to eight years old. The animation was darker as well as bright making the film contrast of humorous, friendly, gritty, mysterious, and horrifying. Monster’s Inc was a step in right direction for the company to utilize contrasts, textures, new shading techniques, washed out colour pallets, and different story elements of a comedy action horror again and mystery with a scheme. The plot was confusing as a child with understanding Waternoose’s motive to kidnap until the end. He now seems greedy also selfish with only thinking wants best for his company than his employees beyond Randall or Sully. Possibly it was confusing as a child for being scared of the CDA, scared of Randall, and scared of Sully’s scare technique as a child. Boo was a plot device. It is funny that the monsters are more frightened by child’s touch being toxic. Another plot device was the doors and the simulatron’s bedroom. The horror elements are from the scream extractor scene. One question where did Boo get that baseball bat to hit Randall severe times unconsciously?

I always had a problem with the time travel portion of this theory connected to Monster's Inc. due to the fact that the world's conflict is that kids at the time were becoming harder to scare. If it really is time travel then why couldn't they just scare kids from a time when scare was more plentiful?

i think boo made a spell to turn herself into a monster so she could go back to monstropolis and goes back in time for something to get the spell wormi (the orange crystal thing from onward or something) and doing so automatically uses the spell powerful enough to cover the city of mushroom whatever it's called and onward is humans evolving into full monsters
