Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer 710M in an offroad rally

Well, since youtube sent me a nasty email that I'm lazy and what not, I decided to check if I have anything worth uploading. Quick glance and here it is - pretty raw and rough edit of old footage shot with potato about a Polish offroad rally that a friend of mine invited me to. He took his 47 years old army truck, famous Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer 710M to the party and the results are pretty impressive - check for yourself. I mean the driving results - this thing is pretty unstoppable. Shooting and edit results are pretty pathetic - I guess it was shot with my old iPhone 7 without any external mic, edited within 30 minutes on old iMovie - so don't expect "The Expanse" level of special effects. But here it is - enjoy if you can - and thank you for watching!

Cool lesson on how to winch a Pinz through trails on which it should not need to be winched, for the entire video, showing people what NOT to do. Fun!👍🏼

If you get stuck in a Pinzgauer, the Pinzgauer isn't the problem.

We have these in the Swiss army. I once did the training off-road track in one of these. It’s just a mountain goat and goes where I wouldn’t walk ☺️

I owned a 1966 ex Swiss Army one in Colorado. It came with stainless steel military tire chains! You need to replace the cabin heater/windscreen defroster in it and windscreen wipers on it with aftermarket heater and windscreen wipers. It will climb out of anything with locked differentials in lowest 1st gear. The new ones in U.S., made by Stewart & Stevenson, cost $300k USD.

Wouldn't have believed it, if I hadn't seen it.
And it sounds so smooth and calm about it all.

This does not look a rally, it looks like a mess.

I was in the Austrian army in 1987 and the Pinzgauer could drive passages that a soldier could not walk. the small Steyr Puch Haflinger is even more off-road. Unfortunately, the supply of spare parts has become quite difficult and expensive.

A quite entertaining – an d interesting film indeed. I had the impression that – as actually indicated in one short comment in the film – that some former off-roaders among the inhabitants of a loony bin had been allowed to run loose for one day in their old vehicles…and proved that their permanent stay in an insane asylum was well founded…Hope you all enjoyed it !

Well you know it, when full throttle is applied, it’s time to make place for the idiots who doesn’t prepare well. Gladly the steyr driver did a wonderful job and shows how it’s been done properly

In the army we went off with a Pinz, to the alps in the evenings to find its limits. Twice we dug it out of snow and gravel, jumped several meters through the I haven`t experienced a sturdier and more maneuverable vehicle of this size. Once it really meets its limits, there is the horse the only solution. The only thing you had to be aware is the tipping moment sideways. Therefore it is wise to wear the seatbelts always, not to get thrown out and rolled over.

Looks like a bunch of amateur hobbyists having fun. Never seen pinzgauers perform so badly. The tyres were almost certainly over inflated.

dalle sciocche risate iniziali e dalla ottusa condotta direi che siamo negli usa dove il raffinato Pinzgauer è sprecato. Anzi Polonia, ma il giudizio non cambia
