Thanks, I have had to leach cernit clay for two days in order to work with it. Wow.

Thanks for the leeching tip, mine is too soft right out from the package, does not bother me, just bought a few blocks and i love Cernit, i had to throw all Fimo blocks because it was impossible to work with them (old, crumpy, dry).

Would polymer clay be toxic when we bake it in the oven? Would that give toxic fumes? We use the oven for baking meals would we get affected by toxic fumes?

Thank you for this video! I have a problem with my Cernit clays being so sticky, especially the translucent. I’ve tried leaching it and it stuck to the paper so badly I had to start over. It sticks to tile, the glass work surface, my tools and fingers, and the shapes get distorted if they’re even salvageable. Do you have any experience with and tips for that? I love how it looks SO MUCH when it’s baked, but the losses can be pretty devastating. Running it through the pasta machine can be a bit of a nightmare, too.

For reference I’ve been playing with mica powders, alcohol inks, and even the metallic line with the translucent.

I recently purchased some Soufflé and Premo and don’t have those problems, but I love the finished Cernit so much it’s hard to fathom parting with it.

I wish my local craft stores had a good selection of Cernit. I’m in the US and there’s less than 10 and they are all colored translucent

Anyone have a tip for making separate small pieces stick together? New to clay so any advice is appreciated 😊
